Wivenhoe Eyecare & Contact Lens Centre Ltd is owned and run by Jane Lee (FBDO CL). The practice was founded in July 2004 and is situated at 1 Belle Vue Road, Wivenhoe, Colchester, Essex, CO7 9LE (formerly at 10 Brook Street). It has been designed with both a modern yet friendly and open feel.

Since moving to Belle Vue Road in August 2007 our Patient base has rapidly expanded and we have many patients coming to us from Wivenhoe and the surrounding villages including Elmstead Market, Alresford, Frating, Great Bentley, Brightlingsea, and many other locations around the Colchester area. Many of our patients appreciate the easy access and on-site parking which most Opticians Practices do not provide.

Lower overheads also mean competitive prices as many of our existing patients have pleasantly found when comparing what they previously paid for spectacles. Why not gives us a try - you've nothing to lose and could save a sizeable sum.

The spectacle range consists of around 800 spectacle frames & sunglasses in stock at any one time. Please have a look at the 'Frames' area of this web site for an idea of the different types stocked. These range from £35 to the more expensive 'designer' ranges from £68. We will also talk you through the most appropriate lenses for your needs. Being an independent practice we can select from the full range of manufacturers. We firmly believe that you get what you pay for and in our experience quality spectacle frames and lenses do tend to last longer than 'budget' ranges. Jane and her team also like to take the time to help you find the style of frame that suits you the best and ensure a perfect fitment.

We have our own glazing lab on-site to speed up the completion of most prescription spectacles & sunglasses.

A touch screen digital imaging system is also available to help patients see themselves in different spectacle designs. Why not have your photo taken with a range of different frames and then put your 'old' specs back on to view the options. You get a much better idea than just putting on the frames and looking in the mirror close-up!

Jane is ably assisted in the practice by her husband, Stuart, and local member of staff, Jo. Eye tests are available on 3 days during the week:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday - 1 week, and

Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday - the following week.

This way every day is covered over a 2 week period.
